2008 Constitutional Changes

Please review the changes as they appear in the following amendments to the NCSTA Constitution and submit your vote!

ARTICLE XIV

AMENDMENTS

Section 2:	A copy of the proposed amendment(s) shall be sent to every member of the Association at least ten (10) days, or, if notice is mailed by other than first class, email or NCSTA website, no fewer than thirty (30), nor more than sixty (60) days before the ballots are counted.
Change	A copy of the proposed amendment(s) shall be sent to every member of the Association at least ten (10) days, or, if notice is emailed or mailed by other than first class, no fewer than thirty (30), nor more than sixty (60) days before the ballots are counted.  This notice will also be posted on the organization’s website.

ARTICLE X

COMMITTEES

Section 4:	It shall be the duty of the Finance Committee to prepare an annual budget for the Association, to have general supervision of all expenditures, and to assist the Treasurer and perform other duties as outlined in the Finance Operations Section of the NCSTA Handbook.  The Chair of the Finance Committee shall be a member ex?]officio, without vote, of all committees that disburse money.  The Finance Committee shall be responsible for providing or obtaining an annual audit of the financial records of the Association.
Change	It shall be the duty of the Finance Committee to prepare an annual budget for the Association, to have general supervision of all expenditures, and to perform other duties as outlined in the Finance Operations Section of the NCSTA Handbook.  The chair of the Finance Committee shall be divided between the current Treasurer and a member of all committees that disburse money. The Finance Committee shall be responsible for providing or obtaining an annual audit of the financial records of the Association.
Section 6:	It shall be the duty of the Publications Committee to be responsible for all of the Association's publications.  The editors of the publications, which include the Science Reflector and the NCSTA Journal, shall be members of this committee.
Change:	It shall be the duty of the Publications Committee to be responsible for all of the Association's electronic and printed publications. The editors of those publications shall be members of this Publications Committee.

After reading these amendments, please vote in the upcoming election on whether or not you would like to approve the proposed changes.
