| Message from the President
A lot has changed since my last message. We have all felt the impact of the current economic situation and we on the board are concerned about its impact on our next PDI. The PDI will be a topic for discussion at our June meeting; however we will continue to plan to sponsor the event for November 19 and 20. I feel we are fortunate to have our event during the first half of the year of the state fiscal budget which will hopefully provide the necessary Professional Development funding for all of us to attend. It is very important for us as an association to have the PDI to provide an opportunity for our membership to grow professionally and increase our numbers.
Our state is also in the process of revising our science NCSCoS. Please take the opportunity to provide your input to NC DPI by using the links elsewhere in the newsletter.
We have elections coming up in the fall and I urge you to nominate your leadership for next year. Those of you interested in doing more for your state district should join us on the board. You will find the instructions you need to do this on the website.
I hope all of you have improved success with your End of year/course assessments and have a great summer break!
Scott E. Grumelot
