NC [Virtual] Science Festival

Greetings from UNC’s Morehead Planetarium and Science Center!

We hope you and yours are doing well in wake of the global pandemic. Like many of you, the NC Science Festival team has been busy navigating the ever-crowded online STEM education waters. Here’s what we’ve done and hope you share with your colleagues and students:

  1. Worked with Governor Cooper to declare April 2020 STEM Education Month.
  2. Curated NC-based virtual opportunities from nonformal education partners like museums, zoos, aquaria, parks and libraries.
  3. Shared our greatest hits of hands-on STEM activities along with some from our partners.
  4. Kept our statewide star party alive by sharing all of our astronomy activities for you to get away from screens.
  5. Made our 100+ member network of scientists available to teachers for virtual visits.

Happy Earth Week, STEM Education Month, and the remaining 10 days of Virtual NC Science Festival!

Be well,

Jonathan and the NCSCiFest Team
