Mission Statement
Science goes beyond a collection of content knowledge and provides students with the tools they need to be engaged citizens and problem solvers. One of our main roles as science teachers is to help the youth of today become more critical thinkers and better consumers of the media in which they engage. If elected to this position, I will use my experiences and connections as a National Center for Science Education Teacher Ambassador and Fulbright Teacher to communicate and connect teachers in my district with PD opportunities and resources that will help educators at all experience levels not only grow in their practice, but hopefully help them save time as well. I will work with the NCSTA to ensure the western part of the state is strongly connected and well-represented in all of the great work the organization does. The more connected teachers are in this organization, the better we can work together to improve science education in our region and our state.
