As a science educator I have personally benefited from NCSTA. The organization has made me a better educator through resources and collaboration among other great science educators around the state. I have been active in the organization through membership, presenting at conferences and currently serving as District 1 Director. As president elect I would continue to help support this organization to help engage and communicate with teachers through PD and resources to help them better meet the needs of their students through science/STEM enhanced best practices. Science is a passion of mine and especially Earth Science so I want to see this organization continue to ROCK!!

Dr. Laura Bottomley has more than 35 years of experience teaching STEM at all levels, pre-K through graduate school, all over the world. Referred to as Dr. B by her students, she engages those same students in bringing STEM activities to places in the world like Rwanda and Puerto Rico.
