Mike is a lifelong science educator who for many years was the director of science for one of the nation's largest school systems, Wake County. He loves working with science educators trying to make a difference one student, one teacher and one classroom at a time. Some of his current hobbies are hiking, snorkeling, traveling, gardening and saltwater surf fishing. He has a passion for international travel with science educators and can be talked into discussing the Pantanal of Brazil, the Peruvian Amazon or Tortuguero of Costa Rica. He is currently continuing his role as past president of NCSTA.
