Seeking Informal STEAM Educators Who Love To Play!

Over The Moon Play Space is a new space-themed indoor playground in Cary, NC which combines play with learning about space and other STEAM topics.

We are seeking informal educators who have a passion for helping children discover the wonder of the universe around them and exploring how it works. The role will evolve as the business matures, but right now we are looking for someone who can:

  • Plan and conduct STEAM related activities and classes for children ages 4-10
  • Help plan, design, and implement informal “exhibits” around the space
  • Help gather fun space information (events and cool facts) for sharing on social media
  • Do other indoor playground activities like welcoming guests, cleaning up, interacting with families, etc.

Eventually we would like to expand the upper age range and do more involved hands-on STEM activities and classes.  Bonus points for applicants who enjoy tinkering with small electronics, coding, etc, but not necessary for the role.

Your background and experience does not need to be astronomy related as long as you love the intersection of STEM and kids.

The specific hours are somewhat flexible, but the primary hours we are looking for at the moment are 11am or noon to around 7pm Monday through Thursday or Friday, for a total of 30-40 hours per week.

Pay starts at $18 per hour.  Benefits include paid time off, a healthcare stipend, 401k, and astronaut ice cream!

We are a local, family-owned business that strives to treat our employees, customers, and planet well.

If you are interested, please send a resume to work@OverTheMoonPlay.com Even if you’re not a 100% match, but you think you would love it, reach out and let’s talk!
