Educators interested in learning about and incorporating energy justice into their teaching are invited to join this conversation with Shalanda Baker, the deputy director for energy justice at the U.S. Department of Energy, a new position under the Biden administration. We’ll discuss strategies for integrating energy justice into energy education and for inspiring students to not only envision but also work towards an equitable and inclusive transition to a clean energy future.

Shalanda Baker is deputy director for energy justice at the U.S. Department of Energy; she is a law professor on leave from Northwestern University, co-founder of the Initiative for Energy Justice, and author of the new book, Revolutionary Power: An Activist’s Guide to the Energy Transition.

This webinar is sponsored by the UNC-Chapel Hill Institute for the Environment’s Center for Public Engagement with Science and the North Carolina Energy Literacy Fellows Program, a teacher professional development program made possible with funding provided by the Duke Energy Foundation.
