Emily Nelson
Emily Nelson is a North Carolina native and science educator located in Greene County. She is a double alumnus from East Carolina University and current PhD candidate at Texas Tech University in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on curriculum studies and teacher education. She teaches a variety of science-based courses and has presented on various topics at conferences locally and nationally.
Emily is an active multiple association member and is passionate about science education. She would like to work to bring authentic science to all classrooms and provide a platform for increased literacy and interdisciplinary learning through problem and project-based activities. She believes that all teachers bring important experiences to the educational table and that diversity is key to the educational environment and overall academic success.
