Biographical Information

Science educator- over 20 years; Active in working with improving science instruction and research; Middle grade field supervisor; Leader in supervising EdTPA science candidates; member of NCSTA/NCSLA.

Mission Statement

Dr. Horton, has worked in both teaching and administrative positions in higher education and she continues to be productive in her professional research and organizations. She is patient, yet she also maintains high expectations. She is supportive, yet she fosters independence. She keeps in constant communication with stakeholders as she prepares annual reports, conducts evaluations, and revises program. Focus on improving and increasing science educators voice in the state and nation. She is aware of the shortages of educators, specially science, and works hard at improving and increasing numbers.
